Monitoring of kidney function, treatment of rheumatic diseases and high blood pressure

Kidney Checkup

Rheumatic diseases and kidney diseases: rheumatoid arthritis; psoriatic arthritis; collagenoses, systemic lupus erythematosus, Wegener's granulomatosis, Sjögren's syndrome, glomerulonephritis, ankylosing spondylitis
Detection and treatment of risk factors: diabetes mellitus, rheumatic diseases, high blood pressure, COVID-19, viral infections, drug toxicities, etc.
Infection-related kidney diseases: bacterial pyelonephritis, post-infectious disorders (e.g., after a viral infection).
Functional impairments after surgery or contrast agent administration (e.g., after cardiac catheterization or complicated surgical procedures)
Heart-related kidney diseases: cardio-renal disorders in cases of high blood pressure or heart failure
Investigation of secondary hypertension
Complete immunological laboratory: in cooperation with the Limbach Laboratory
Chemical laboratory tests of kidney function: creatinine, urea, blood gas analysis, electrolytes, PTH, TSH, fT3, fT4, differential blood count, serum electrophoresis, C3, C4, immunoelectrophoresis, iron and vitamin status
Virological laboratory tests: CMV, herpes, EBV, hantavirus, and hepatitis serology, etc.

Urinuntrsuchung

Urinanalysis

Microbiological examination of urine in cooperation with the urology practice and laboratory of Dr. S. Otto.
Quantification of proteinuria and albuminuria in spontaneous and 24-hour urine, albumin and protein/creatinine ratio.
Urine electrophoresis for qualitative determination of protein.
Rapid urine test, semi-quantitative, automated, performed on site.
Urine sediment: Microscopy of urine to search for cells and casts (in SLE) and crystals (uric acid and oxalate in crystallopathies).
New markers for prognosis in chronic renal failure: Dickkopf-3 (DDK-3).

Advice on lifestyle changes and medication adjustment for high blood pressure (in accordance with the guidelines of the German Society of Nephrology and the German Hypertension League)
